On Wednesday the 6th of February 2019, the Liberation Route Europe Foundation hosted the 3rd annual LRE Gala, during which we invited our international members to dine with us at the BELvue to celebrate our ongoing collaboration, provide an update on the achievements of the past year, introduce new members, and offer the opportunity to network on an international level.

This was an invite only event, but if you wish to become a member and participate next year, please click here.

From a dinner in the Bastogne War Museum’s exhibition spaces, to the Fables room of the House of European History in Brussels, the location of the Gala is always a unique and exclusive experience. We also aim to bring an interesting variety of speakers, such as Prof. Élie Barnavi (Israeli historian and diplomat) in 2017 and Keith Lowe (Historian and author of ‘The Fear and the Freedom) in 2018.

This year’s event was held at the BELvue, a historic venue in the centre of Brussels, on the evening of February 6. Our keynote speaker was Helen Patton, who was preceded by several presentations and speeches by Dietmar Nietan, member of the German Bundestag, Robert Croll, Chairman of the vfonds, Victoria van Krieken, Chaiwoman of the LRE Foundation, and Jurriaan de Mol Founder of the Liberation Route Europe. Rémi Praud, Managing Director of the LRE Foundation hosted the event and welcomed the 2019 new LRE members.
