Stichting Crossroads Brabant ’40-’45 is an initiative of Brabant remembrance foundations and memorial musea Maczek Museum Breda, Camp Vught National Memorial, Stichting Bevrijding Brabantse Wal, Wings of liberation Best, Stichting 18 september Eindhoven and War Museum Overloon. In 2019 and 2020, Brabant commemorates and celebrates 75 years of freedom. Leading up to 2019 and 2020 Stichting Crossroads Brabant ’40-’45 developed the concept CROSSROADS BRABANT: 75 personal life changing war stories in Brabant.

The Second World War provided Brabant with a countless number of stories. Both anxious and hopeful moments have found their place in history. Small, personal recollections provide a complete picture of the war. CROSSROADS: 75 PERSONAL LIFE CHANGING WAR STORIES in Brabant is all about these stories; recollections that changed individual lives for ever. The 75 stories will form the basis for events and recollections in 2019 and 2020. Crossroads will bring the stories to life through their locations, as though they were an actual witness of the war, and make them familiar by retelling them in a contemporary way. In this way we can keep and share our wartime stories, both large and small, for the next generations.

Stichting Crossroads Brabant ’40-’45 is lead partner of the international campaign Europe Remembers. Stichting Crossroads Brabant ’40-‘45 developed in cooperation with Europe Remembers, the campaign Brabant Remembers.
